WEB DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT: SALES, LMS, STAKEHOLDER HUB
2014-current
The client initially approached me to build a website as a sales tool for continuing education courses and an online learning environment. We built a robust WordPress site with membership platform that allowed for gated content. We integrated Adobe Connect, other learning technologies, and ported recorded video content. After several years the client outgrew the website as a teaching platform so we migrated course content to the Canvas LMS, where I assisted in onboarding, including working closely with teachers to create a workflow and basic UX/UI (technical and content) based on the structure of the LMS.
Since 2018, their stakeholders have increased sizeably (past and present students, teachers, planning team, board of directors, and owners), so I have worked closely with the organization to develop a gated resource website for their organizational needs. We are currently developing a single sign-on integration between the Canvas LMS online classroom and the resource website, which will be deployed at the beginning of the next academic year (April 2020). In addition, we’re currently finishing longer-term development of a student information system, a custom Filemaker Pro database solution to maintain historical information about the institute.
Throughout the 10 years working with the client, we have developed a strong brand presence and visual and messaging conventions, both on the web and social media, and periodicals in Europe and the United States.
